10 Reasons exercise is good for your health!

Exercise in general has a stupendous amount of benefits to your health, it astounds me that I actually have to convince people to still get up and move.

Anyway here are 10 of my favourite health benefits you can expect to get from exercise:

  1. It has been proven time and time again it can reduce your risk of major illnesses, such as coronary heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and even cancer.

  2. A reduced chance of getting osteoarthritis - I know I would do whatever I could now so I didn’t suffer with this when I was older

  3. It reduces symptoms of depression - having experiences my own spells of depression I can’t explain how much regular exercise has done for me.

  4. It helps you with weight management - whether you need to gain or lose weight exercise is an amazing tool to assist you with this, or rather that is an essential to either goal.

  5. It promotes better quality sleep - in todays world where we are often tired and stressed and it isn’t always easy to just ‘not stress’, or ‘get more sleep’, the fact exercise helps improve the quality of sleep when we do actually get some sleep is extraordinary.

  6. It boosts your energy level - feeling tired or lacking energy? Exercise increases the amount oxygen and nutrients sent to your muscles and helps your cardiovascular system work mor effieciently.

  7. It helps build bone density - this is imperative to your health as you get older. It is very important that when we get older and muscle starts to deteriorate that we are in a good position to maintain as much balance as possible to prevent injuries.

  8. It can improve your brain health and memory - which is very important especially as we get older, it has been proven to slow down the physiological effects of aging in your brain as well as reduce changes in the brain that contribute to alzheimer’s and dementia.

  9. It can help you control pain levels associated with several health conditions such as: chronic low back pain and fibromyalgia.

  10. It strengthens the heart muscle, improving the efficiency of pumping blood throughout the body. It helps lower blood pressure and reduces the levels of harmful low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, at the same time as increasing the beneficial high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol.

I can’t think of any more reasons why you even need to get started right now.
